Well, there has been plenty of back-slapping and champagne-swigging here at Knowledge train. After a gruelling return to student-hood, both my fellow PRINCE2 trainer Kobus Scheepers and I have passed the MSP Practitioner exam. This is the first step on the road to our goal for 2009: to offer the MSP Managing Successful Programmes qualification here at Knowledge Train. Like PRINCE2, MSP is a management method developed for the OGC, is administered as a qualification by the APMG-UK, and offers a flexible but structured approach that is based on ‘Best Practices’ – the condensed experiences of professional Programme Managers from a wide variety of organisations across the EU. We still have some way to go before we can offer MSP to our students, but it is certainly one of our top projects for this year. Our next step will be to gain the Advanced Practitioner qualification, and then to begin to write the Knowledge Train MSP reading materials and course outline. Kobus and I have already accumulated quite a bit of experience writing training courses, as the new IT Project Management training course and the Fundamentals of Project Management course attest, but MSP will bring its own challenges. If you have any hints or suggestions about the way you think we should present the course, then drop us an email. You can also email us if you are interested in qualifying in MSP and want us to let you know when the course is up and running. Otherwise, watch this space … |
